What detection technologies are used?
Passive Infrared Red sensors
The PIR detects occupancy by reacting to infrared energy sources, such as human body in motion. PIR sensors are suitable for smaller places. It provides good detection performance for people moving around, with a long detection range.
High Frequency sensors
HF sensors have a long range and are very sensitive to movements. They detect through glass and thin materials. HF sensors can therefore be mounted out of sight above a suspended ceiling. Detection can also take place outside the room.
Microwave technology
Microwave technology (MV) detects occupancy by emitting waves and analyzing bounced back waves. It's sensitive to movement and is ideal for large spaces and areas that have an awkward shape or where fine motion detection is required.
Dual technology
Sensors that employ PIR + US for ultrasonic sensing technologies are usually referred to as “dual technology” (DT). Our Dual technology ensures maximum sensitivity and coverage in tough applications for optimum reliability and energy saving.
